Pursuit
reaching for excellence
RR Poet wines are limited-production, estate-grown wines. Our wines are a reflection of a singular vision - to express the very best qualities of a distinctive place - our very own PineBrake Vineyard. Our mission and our promise are to craft the very best wines we possibly can from each vintage that our vineyard and Mother Nature provide us.
Each vintage, fruit from PineBrake is meticulously grown, hand-selected, and hand-harvested to be crafted into our wine, and even then - only the very best barrels of that wine are selected for the final RR Poet blends. It is a tremendous labor of love, and one that we trust you will appreciate as much as we do as you experience the distinctive quality in each bottle of RR Poet.
Due to the exacting, hands-on approach that we take with this wine throughout the winegrowing process, RR Poet wines are necessarily very limited in quantity and available to RR Poet Members only while supplies last. In order to purchase RR Poet current release wines, you must first sign up to become a member. Membership is totally free and does not require any purchase. Aspect
ingredients of greatness
Great wines can be transcendent… capable of forging emotions that are filled with a deep sense of romance, joy, and even awe. These wines are experiences among themselves, and ones that those of us who love the craft aim to replicate over and over with each vintage and bottle. Great wines are formed not just of one thing, but many.
01.
–
A distinctive site. Many vineyards can tell a story. But only a few have something distinctive to say that is compelling to listen to. PineBrake Vineyard, with its distinctive soils and location, tells a truly riveting tale. The selection of a great vineyard site is almost certainly the #1 factor in any great wine.
02.
–
Control of the fruit. The basic ingredient of wine - grapes - can be highly variable in quality from grower to grower, even from within the same region. Without direct control of the vineyard, one has little control of the quality of fruit. At RR Poet, we control 100% of the fruit that goes into our wines from our estate vineyard.
03.
–
Focus. Our offerings are limited, but they have received the scrutiny of our unending focus. We have limited our wines so that each of them can receive the attention needed for wines of distinction and greatness. This is our singular vision - to focus on what our vineyard does best, and from that, create the very best wines.

–
Control the process. From the first pruning in the vineyard, to the harvest, through the many months of barrel aging, through the blending and bottling, and finally to the packaging and delivery of every bottle to our customers… we are there. Everything that makes up the bottle that ends up in your hands was truly hand-made, 100%, by us: a true, Estate wine.
“there are too few things in life that inspire - love, poetry, music… let wine be one of them.”

History
tendrils of time
RR Poet was born of a vision over a decade ago from founder and winegrower Jeremy Porter. A student of wine, Jeremy knew that in order to make great wine, he must control the single most important aspect of wine - the fruit. With that in mind, he began a search in 2007 to find a vineyard site that would live up to the lofty goals that he had set for himself - to one day craft distinctive wines that could be compelling and truly great. After some time, his search narrowed to a section of Washington State’s Yakima Valley - the newly formed Rattlesnake Hills AVA, home to several vineyards from which many of finest wines in the state are grown. It took two years of searching, but Jeremy finally found his site, and he began developing PineBrake Vineyard in 2009.
Growing wine is one of the most ancient known human endeavors. While growing wine, one can still feel the lineage of this ancient human art - there is a thread that connects modern humans to our ancient ancestors that stretches through the roots of a vineyard. It is a slow thread, each year of the past thousands deliberately passing down collective knowledge of decisions in the vineyard that will make the best wines. With that in mind, a winegrower is almost forced to acknowledge that the pace of today’s modern world is a poor companion for the ancient and deliberate art of winegrowing. Patience is obligatory.
Knowing that the vines would not be able to produce the best wine for many years, Jeremy made the decision to patiently develop the vineyard for a full decade before harvesting the first vintage of RR Poet in 2019. The reward for that patience is evident in every bottle.
